LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Anthony Michael with the Cross-Eyed Pig joined THV's Ashley Blackstone to share a great, low cost recipe you can cook in a classic cast-iron dutch oven.
Also, he talked about the National Dutch Oven Gathering taking place at DeGray Lake Resort State Park in Bismarck Oct. 18-20.
2-3 lbs cubed pork butt browned in the oven
1 large onion
4 cloves garlic
4 stalks celery
6 small potatoes
1 can chicken broth
1 package gravy mix
Salt and pepper to taste
To brown the pork butt, dice it and season with pepper and Cavender's. Put in a buttered or greased pan. Put in the oven for 250-275 degrees for 45 minutes.
Once the pork butt is browned, dice up the rest of the ingredients and place in Dutch oven. Cook on a low heat for 6-8 hours.
You can also do this recipe in crock pot.
