    Inmate having seizures pronounced dead Saturday morning

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) Michael Hammond, an inmate in the Pulaski County jail, died shortly after being booked.

    According to the police report, the 40-year-old was in the holding cell when he began having seizures about 3 a.m. Medical staff responded and transported him to UAMS where he was pronounced dead.

    Hammond's body will be taken to the coroner for an autopsy and authorities are investigating his death.

    Hammond was arrested for possession of firearms, refusal to submit a chemical test, and theft by receiving.
