LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Downtown can finally take a breath following Arkansas' largest outdoor festival: Riverfest.
An estimated 250,000 people packed downtown over the Memorial Day weekend bringing big bucks to local economy. The riverfest committee estimates a $33 million economic impact to central Arkansas.
Some businesses in town opened this weekend for the first time during the festival -- like the Museum of Discovery. Cameron Sanchez worked all weekend as floor staff and says crowds certainly made the stop this weekend, especially for kids to get a break from the heat.
Restaurants like Gusano's in the downtown area were packed all weekend long and servers like Kionia White went over and above all monetary goals set for the weekend.
If you have photos from the weekend at Riverfest, we would love to see them. You can upload the pictures to our photo gallery here.
