Donald and Donna Creer died in a house fire in Little Rock.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The funeral for Donna and Donald Creer, the Little Rock couple killed in a house fire allegedly caused by arson, was held today at 11 a.m. at the Greater St. Mark Baptist Church located at 5722 W. 12th Street in Little Rock.
Mourners spoke about the endearing qualities of the Creers.
"I think that comes from God primarily and of course it takes a nurturing family to cause it to be productive, but I think gifts are given to us by God," said Antony Hobbs, a long-time friend.
Donna Creer worked as a popular gospel radio show host for years in the Little Rock market. She worked most recently for the Little Rock School District as the magnet schools coordinator. Donald Creer worked as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines.
"When Don married Donald he got a jewel no question about it," said Donald Creer's father.
Authorities have yet to release the official cause of the fire. The Little Rock Fire Department said it may call a joint press conference with the Little Rock Police Department once the results from critical evidence are received.
"Their deaths did not match their lives," said St. Mark Baptist Church Senior Pastor Phillip L. Pointer, Sr., quoting a friend.
