UNDATED (USA TODAY) -- Paging Zack Snyder.
Now that Ben Affleck is on board to play Batman (if you missed the hoopla while on vacation, scroll Twitter, veteran critic Leonard Maltin and Michael Keaton reactions), who else will pop up in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel? Well, it could be ... Justin Timberlake.
"Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it," Timberlake told Fresh 102.7's Jim and Kim Show on Tuesday, reports E! News. (He was there to chat up his upcoming film with Affleck, Runner Runner.) "I worked with Ben last summer, and I've seen his process. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. I think he's an extreme talent, so he could surprise a lot of people."
But how about Timberlake as Robin? (Matt Damon's already ruled it out, sadly.) "Not a chance in hell," he said, laughing. "I ain't playin' Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie. Now VILLAIN! I'll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain."
And was formerly played by Jim Carrey, one might note. Why is Timberlake so enamored with the character? "The Riddler was like a sociopath," he said. "He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy."
Sounds like he is semi-serious. "I'm ready," Timberlake said. "The Riddler. Gimme a call."
