BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - According to Sgt. Todd Crowson with Bryant police, the department received a call just after 10 p.m. Monday from an officer who said someone had broken into his police vehicle, taking several items including his weapon, raid vest, and taser.

Sgt. Crowson said that while working the case, officers received word that a person had been shot on Springhill Road. When they arrived on scene, Sgt. Crowson said they found the victim lying in the floor of a camper with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, and on the floor nearby was the stolen gun belonging to the officer. The other items were recovered as well.

At this time, Sgt. Crowson said police believe foul play was not involved and that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. The body has been turned over to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

The name has not been released.

According to Sgt. Crowson, officers learned of another suspect, 21-year-old Nia Bullard, who admitted to being involved with the theft of the items.

Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation because the items involved belonged to a Bryant officer.
