GARLAND CO., Ark. (KTHV) - Garland County authorities have two trustees back in custody after fleeing a work site.
At 6:15 a.m. Friday morning, trustees Ryan Rimmer and Richard McCoy were being escorted by deputies about 30 feet from the Adult Detention Center to the Juvenile facility, pushing a cart of food items when both inmates fled. Both were caught a short time later near the intersection of Highway's 70 and 270 west.
Rimmer was being held on a probation violation stemming from theft charges and McCoy was being held on a parole violation stemming from a failure to appear charge (which he was given time served for).
Rimmer is being held at the Garland County Detention Center and McCoy has been taken to the Arkansas Department of Corrections on the Parole hold.
