LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Three people have been charged in a shooting that injured one officer and a suspect.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis said Etavious Jamar Smith, 19, of Little Rock; Van Horian Dontre Pittman, 22, of Little Rock; and Jamie Olatreece Clayton, 20, of Little Rock were charged Monday afternoon following an officer involved shooting at the 100 block of S. Monroe Street around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Davis said the shooting happened as officers with the Little Rock Police Department were checking on a suspicious persons report. Someone called 911 saying that two people were taking pictures of themselves holding guns on the porch of a home in the area.

When officers arrived they saw two men run inside the home. Officers then heard gunfire coming from inside the home towards them, so they returned fire. Once the gunfire was over, Sgt. Davis said three men and a woman exited the home and were taken into custody. One of the suspects was shot in the foot and one officer was grazed in the leg.

Clayton is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by certain persons; he is a convicted felon out of the 4th Division District Court. Smith and Pittman also face two counts of aggravated assault. Smith also faces one count of failure to appear.

LRPD's investigation will determine who was shot with what type of weapon and how many rounds were fired by each individual.

Sgt. Davis said there were two officers who responded to the initial call of 911. SWAT was later called out to go through the residence in an attempt to recover the weapons seen by the caller. At this time the weapons have not been recovered.

The name of the officers involved will not be released at this time until they have had a chance to contact their family.

All four suspects were transported to the downtown do for questioning and released pending investigation.
