INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Authorities in Independence County are investigating a home invasion in which a woman was kidnapped, forced to leave her small child behind.

According to the Independence County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday night a man forcibly entered a home with a woman and small child inside.

The suspect attacked the woman and forced her to leave in her SUV and the panic alarm at the home was set off.

According to 911 calls, the SUV fled the scene where, at one point, the woman got out of the SUV naked and bleeding, telling a passing vehicle that she had been forcibly taken from her home and she "needed to get home to her baby."

Another 911 call told investigators that the driver left the SUV, then forced a minor on an ATV to take him from the scene.

After a thorough search and investigation, officers identified a suspect and took him into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and based on the investigation charges are pending.
