LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Teaching your teen to drive can certainly be a nerve-wracking experience, but the Teen Driving ROADeo aims to ease some of those tensions.

Teens and parents took over the War Memorial Stadium parking lot Saturday to practice safe driving skills. The event gave teens the opportunity to participate in interactive exhibits, which include texting and driving, sharing the road with big rigs and impaired driving.

"When there is a car crash, there is a certain amount of room in that car that you're gonna have to survive in," said Susan Cohen from Arkansas Children's Hospital, hoping some teens take these lessons to heart. "Having that seatbelt on, making sure that you're not chatting on the phone, talking to your friends, putting on lipstick to really be paying attention is going to keep you out of that situation."

Cohen said that this was the second teen ROADeo, and she expects to bring this event back in the spring.

Arkansas Children's Hospital and the Fletcher Auto Group hosted this event.
