WASHINGTON (AP) - Chris Brown is expected to appear in court on an assault charge related to a fight over the weekend.
It's the latest legal problem for the Grammy Award-winning singer.
Brown and another man were charged with felony assault in the altercation that occurred early Sunday.
The man who was attacked received treatment for his injuries at a local hospital and was released Sunday. Police wouldn't elaborate on his injuries but say the felony charge was based in part on the extent of the injuries. The victim's name wasn't released.
Brown was being held pending a court hearing Monday.
Neither Brown's publicists nor his attorney responded to messages left Sunday.
