NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/KTHV) - Garth Brooks is taking his intimate one-man Las Vegas show to live television.

A news release issued Monday says CBS will broadcast Brooks' performance at the Wynn Las Vegas live on Friday, Nov. 29.

Brooks came out of retirement in 2009 for a series of occasional gigs at Steve Wynn's invitation. Brooks formally ended that run after three years, but has played occasionally since then.

The broadcast will be his final performance of the show, which has mostly been Brooks with just his guitar exploring his musical influences with fans.

"GARTH BROOKS, LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS" will feature Brooks in a very intimate setting, playing his guitar as he takes the audience through the musical journey that led him to become the number one selling solo artist in U.S. history. He will share his experiences listening to different musicians throughout his life, starting with the music of Merle Haggard and George Jones. Then, other musicians who influenced him like Simon & Garfunkle, James Taylor, Otis Redding, Bob Seger, George Strait and many, many, more. Throughout the show, Garth will perform some of their classic songs and show you how they influenced his greatest hits.

Brooks has mostly been out of music since 2001, when he became a stay-at-home dad. But fans remain fervent, helping to set a record viewership for the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this year when Brooks performed with George Strait.

The live concert airs from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Central Time on CBS, which locally is KTHV, Channel 11.
