LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Police said a gas station employee scared off would-be robbers from his store.
"He (alleged robber) went outside and told his friend 'there's only one guy (clerk),'" said Hamod Ahmed, the store clerk.
Police responded to Asher Truck Stop at 2608 Maple Street Nov. 13 around 1:20 a.m. about a robbery. An employee told police that while he was in the bathroom, it sounded like his coworker was being robbed.
He said when he stepped out of the bathroom, he saw one man pointing two handguns at his coworker, and a second man standing at the door.
"He turned the two guns to me like this and I shot and stayed behind the freezer," said Ahmed.
The employee tells police he pulled out his Beretta 9mm from his waistband and fired one shot into the ceiling of the store to scare the men away.
The two ran away on foot in an unknown direction. Police said the men took nothing from the store.
"It's very dangerous over here ... that's what I've heard," said Ahmed.
