CLARKSVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - An 18-month-old girl was killed in a townhouse fire on Wednesday night in Clarksville.
According to Clarksville Police Chief Greg Donaldson, the fire started between 12 and 12:15 pm on Wednesday on Cemetery Street.
The townhouse apartments include 8 units of homes. Three were totally destroyed while the remaining five have some level of smoke damage.
Investigators believed the 18-month-old lived in the unit where the fire originated.
Police have asked for state police investigators to help them determine the cause of the fire. Those investigators will work with Clarksville's two investigators already working the fire.
No one else was injured, and the 18-month-old girl's father was able to get two other children in the home to safety.
The girl's body has been sent to the crime lab for an autopsy. Police do not believe there was any foul play.
