JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Nothing says Christmas like Chuck Brockinton's home.
"One year I talked my dad into buying a couple sets of lights and those went around the front porch. Well, the next year we bought a few more sets and the next year a few more sets," says Brockinton.
Chuck has been doing this since he was 15 years old and not without a few accidents along the way.
"I blew the fuse out here on the power pole. It was a warm night and my wife said man it's hot in this house and I said well turn on the air. She did and everything went off and there was no question as to why," says Brockinton.
With 38 thousand lights, it's the brightest house on Jacksonville Conway Road.
"It looks really cool. He does it every year and we come up and see it every year. It's pretty cool. It just makes me happy," says Cameron Sanden.
"It gives you a pretty good thrill just when you are out here say on a weeknight here before I turn them all on and say I'm putting together this tree and we get just a few strands of lights on it and somebody slows downs and honks or they'll just holler out the window "Merry Christmas." Then you know what you are doing is a good thing," says Brockinton.
And he doesn't plan on stopping any time soon.
"I'll just have to add some more power. Maybe I'll get this one up to a 100,000 lights someday. That's a good idea. We'll have to run that one by my wife of course," says Brockinton.
The only reason Chuck hasn't reached 100 thousand lights is because he literally can not power one more bulb. But of course, that may change next year.
