Gym etiquette at 10 Fitness
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Going to the gym is one of the most popular New Year's resolutions nationwide.
It's easier for most people to start off strong, but the challenge comes with keeping it going all year long.
10 Fitness Manager J.J. Ryan said they always see an increase in membership around the new year, but it slowly starts to decline around March.
Most people tend to burn out early before reaching their goal.
"I think a lot of people get discouraged. They didn't see the results as quick as they thought they would so maybe they worked out 6-7 weeks and got on the scale and only lost a pound," said Ryan.
For newcomers, Ryan suggested starting out with a 20 minute jog on the treadmill without stopping, then once you've reached that goal, move up to 30 minutes.
Ryan said it's all about establishing short term goals that work best for you.
