Shots fired near Dunbar Middle School Wednesday

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Shots were fired near Dunbar Middle School Wednesday.

    According to Sgt. Cassandra Davis, a man was in the field between the school and the community center firing a weapon into the air around 6:20 p.m. He will be charged with aggravated assault, possession of a handgun on school grounds as well as resisting arrest and fleeing.

    Davis said around 12 shell casings from a .40 caliber handgun in the immediate area; the man has attempted to hide the weapon inside a random vehicle, which was unlocked and did not belong to him.

    In addition, a volleyball game, which was a Little Rock School District event, was going on at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.
