Benton schools receive $15,000 security grant

    BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - Through the help of a senator and a representative, the Benton Police Department has been able to get a school security grant.

    According to Lt. Kevin Russell, $15,000 was approved and presented to the school board and superintendent on Oct. 13 after police applied for the grant through the Central Arkansas Planning and Development District for school security improvements.

    Representative Kim Hammer and Senator. Jeremy Hutchinson helped to ensure the money went to the district.
