NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - From bulldozers and back-hoes to crayons and canvas, a local heavy equipment company helps the Thea Foundation today.

Caterpillar of North Little Rock dropped off a tractor-load of art supplies for kids across the area. The donation was made possible by the foundation backed by Caterpillar.

The supplies will go toward the Thea Foundation's ongoing effort to improve art education in schools.

"Not only for the experiential of the arts, but also what it does from an educational perspective and how it improves the overall education," said Paul Rivera, general manager of Caterpillar.

Caterpillar donated $7,500 and the Thea Foundation matched it. Now, 13 elementary schools in the North Little Rock School District will get about $1,500 worth of art supplies this week.
