Former UALR baseball player inks deal with Windy City Thunderbolts

    LITTLE ROCK - Former UALR baseball player John Clark (2012-13) recently signed a deal with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League. Clark recorded his first professional hit on Friday, June 21, collecting an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning in the Thunderbolts' 7-4 win over the Rockford Aviators at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood, Ill.

    Clark started two of three games in the first professional series of his career. The Norman, Okla.-native was penciled into the lineup as Windy City's designated hitter on Friday before getting the start at first base in the team's 3-2 victory on Saturday.

    A junior college transfer from Seminole State, Clark appeared in 89 games with 77 starts in two seasons with the Trojans, hitting .313 with 11 home runs, 21 doubles and 58 RBI in his UALR career. He led the team with in fielding percentage (.987) and putouts (505) as a senior in 2013.
