BOSTON (AP) - Boston Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes (gohmz) says placing the World Series trophy on the Boston Marathon finish line was "an emotional moment."

It happened today as the team and its fans paraded through Boston on duck boats to celebrate their championship. As Gomes and his teammates paid tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, tenor Ronan Tynan sang "God Bless America" and the crowd joined in.

The Red Sox won the World Series Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6.
