FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Bret Bielema is walking the line between salvaging what he can this season at Arkansas and looking toward the future.
The Razorbacks (3-7, 0-6 Southeastern Conference) haven't won since a 24-3 victory over Southern Mississippi on Sept. 24, and last week's loss to Mississippi ensured they'll miss a bowl game for the second straight season.
The seven-game losing streak is tied for the longest in school history, a record Arkansas - which enters its second bye weekend of the season - hopes to avoid breaking next week when it faces Mississippi State in Little Rock.
Bielema, in his first season with the Razorbacks, has put in extra practice time for the team's younger players, but he hasn't given up hope of ending the season on a positive note.
