CONWAY, Ark. (UCA) - The Central Arkansas volleyball team took some time to honor the career achievements of its six seniors on Saturday. On the court, the Sugar Bears sent the seniors out in style, taking down Southeastern Louisiana to give them the 50th home victory of their careers.

The win also gave Central Arkansas the cap on a perfect run in conference play, pushing them to 18-0 on the season. This is the first time in 33 years that a team has gone undefeated while winning at least 18 games.

Central Arkansas (26-3, 18-0 SLC) won the first set 25-21, the second 25-16, and the third 25-21 to pick up the 15th straight-set victory of their season. Marissa Collins dished out a match-high 36 assists, while adding three kills, three aces, two digs, and two blocks to lead the Central Arkansas offense. Heather Schnars had a match-high 15 kills and Jessica Nagy chipped in nine.

Defensively, the Sugar Bears were led by Shelbee Berringer, who had a match-high 11 digs, and Paige Gantar, who turned in a match-high four blocks. Landry Bullock and Veronica Turk led the Southeastern Louisiana (11-20, 4-14 SLC) offense with eight kills each, while Mikayla Shippy had 27 assists. Defensively, Megan McMillin turned in 10 digs and Turk collected three blocks.

Central Arkansas, currently riding a 19-match winning streak, returns to action on Friday in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament. The top-seeded Sugar Bears will face off against the eighth-seeded team. Seeding will be finalized following tonight's match between McNeese State and Nicholls State. Depending on the outcome, Central Arkansas will play either McNeese State or Stephen F. Austin. The match is slated to begin at 4:00 pm in Corpus Christi, Texas.
