SHERWOOD, Ark. (SAU) - After two rounds of play, the Southern Arkansas women's golf team ended the University of Arkansas-Monticello Fall Classic in fourth place as they shot a 740 over both rounds.
The tournament, which was held at the Greens at North Hills in Sherwood, featured six teams, four of which were Great American Conference foes. The only GAC school to beat out the Lady Muleriders was Harding as the Lady Muleriders' fourth-place finish was better than GAC rivals Arkansas-Monticello and Ouachita Baptist.
Leading the way for the Lady Muleriders in the tournament was Nikki Vallandingham as she carded a 172 two-round total. Vallandingham, who shot an 88 in the opening round, bettered her score in the second round as she fired an 84. The 172 two-round total was good enough to place Vallandingham in seventh-place individually.
Behind Vallandingham in scoring was Amanda Levin. Levin overcame a 95 in her opening round with an 89 in the second round to end with a 184 two-round score. Liz Dover and Raven Perrin rounded out scoring for SAU as Dover carded a 186 and Perrin a 198, respectively.
This was the Lady Muleriders' final tournament of the fall. They will now turn their attention towards preparing for their championship season in the spring.
