NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KTHV) - Some charity organizations around Central Arkansas said, that when it comes to the holidays, their need for generosity goes well beyond Thanksgiving.

We stopped by the R.O.C.A.N. organization, also known as Reaching Our Children's Neighborhoods in North Little Rock. Run by Leifel Jackson, the group offers kids a safe haven after school and an Angel Tree adoption program for Christmas.

Jackson said that program is running behind on "heroes."

"At the end of the couple of weeks that we normally have all are children (adopted), this year, and maybe it's because of the economy, we still have some kids that need to be adopted," Jackson said.

Jackson says the best way to adopt a child for Christmas is to call him at (501) 744-4898 or check out the group's Facebook page.
