LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Christmas shopping time is getting down to the wire. Santa and the elves should be loading up the sleigh by now, but Christmas shoppers continue to make last-ditch efforts to make the most of the holiday season.

Most shoppers have already purchased the bulk of their Christmas gifts, and need that one special gift for the 'hard-to-buy-for" group.

A number of retailers will stay open well into the early evening. Target will be open until 9 p.m., and Walmart will stay open until 8. The malls close at 6.

As for the last minute shoppers today, they really felt no shame.

"I am actually here to get one last thing for a grandson that I have not found yet, so I am hoping to find a toy for a six year old," said Carol Johns.

"I mean you know you just got to go get that special gift for that special someone," Brady Smith added.

"Me and wife agreed that we weren't going to do Christmas, were going to hold off and then she went off and bought something so she put me in a last minute predicament," explained Brice Herron.

Traffic is heavy a t the McCain Mall area, so expect lines and traffic if you're still shopping.
