LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Have you ever felt totally overwhelmed by a decorating project around your house? What colors do you want to use? What style furniture? Artwork and rugs?

You know decorating can become so overwhelming that you don't know where to start, and some of us just give up totally and don't even do anything at home.

I joined with Scott Paterek of Massimo to give some pointers on how we can really make our space our own. He told us how to accessorize our home with everything from little knick knacks all the way to art.

"Well when you are shopping for accessories for your home, open your mind a little bit. We use crystals, fossils, natural elements, pine cones in a bowl, seasonal things from your local nursery. Think of all different ways of accessorizing your home. There are beautiful accessories you would buy in a store - but think about your local artisans, your potters, your artists that make accessories for the home," he said.

He also said that a silk plant in every corner is not necessary. You just have to open your horizons a little bit.

A bookshelf is not just for books and silk plants anymore. You can do over-sized things. Scale is the hardest thing for most people. If you are looking for the perfect accessory and art, great design stores like Scott's store are the perfect place to start and that will lead you in the right direction.
