LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - On any given day in Arkansas, there are roughly 500 state foster children up for adoption, waiting for a family to give them a place to call home.

Teens and sibling groups are toughest to place, which is one reason THV11 has partnered with the Department of Human Services to help find them homes.

THV11's Dawn Scott got to spend the afternoon with three sweet children, Demetrius, Alana, and Michyah at the Little Rock Zoo.

The 9, 8, and 7-year-old are close in every way- it was evident they hated being apart and they love each other dearly.

"My little sister is a little sassy, but I don't care- I still love her," said Demetrius.

They do almost everything together, even at the zoo. They saw giraffes up close for the first time, watched the cheetahs' every move, and even spied on slithery reptiles behind a glass.

And though we could see their bubbly cheer, they also hold a deep hope for something lost- a mom, a dad, and a home.
