The storm system that moved across the state last Sunday and Monday didn't bring much severe weather, but it did bring some areas of heavy rain. The rain was not your usual rain, it brought dirt and left outdoor objects even dirtier than before the rain.

The cause? Hot, dry and windy conditions in West Texas caused wildfires the day before the system moved into Arkansas. Smoke and dust from Texas was swept up into the storm system as strong low pressure developed in the Central Plains. The dirt was carried aloft by the strong winds and deposited with the rain over Arkansas.
