UNDATED (KTHV) -- It looked like summer didn't want to take a break, but a recent pattern change has brought welcome relief..temporarily. Ed explains.
Summer is usually influenced by upper level high pressure that keeps rain from froming and heat building. This week, the upper high shrunk and moved more into Texas allowing upper air disturbances to affect the natural state.
The storms brought some much needed rain to some and hardly anything to others.
Ed explains the pattern change in this edition of weather 101.
