LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office says a detention officer has been fired and criminal charges have been filed against the officer.
William Alery was fired Aug. 31. His firing and charges stem from an internal affairs investigation after a complaint was reported.
Officials say the officer violated a policy which includes furnishing, possessing, or using prohibited articles, a class C felony.
Sheriff Jim Roberson says violations of policies and misconduct will not be condoned or allowed within the Sheriff's Office.
