BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Blytheville police are investigating the deaths of two people in a shooting, but officials don't expect to make any arrests.

Officers said Monday they received an emergency call about 6 a.m. Sunday of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 23-year-old Charles Whitfield and 27-year-old Timothy Hooper with gunshot wounds.

Officers say Hooper died at Great River Medical Center and Whitfield died later at a Little Rock hospital.

Investigators say during an argument between the men, Hooper produced a handgun and began threatening Whitfield. Whitfield got the gun away from Hooper, who then left the scene.

Officials say Hooper returned with another gun and the two men argued again before shooting each other.

Both bodies will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.
