LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV/AP) - Little Rock police confirmed at a press conference today that a body found in a pond is that of a missing UALR student.

They are ruling her death as a homicide but won't comment on her injuries or cause of death.

Patricia Guardado disappeared last Wednesday. Law enforcement officers discovered her body Sunday afternoon floating in a pond about 300 feet off Arkansas Highway 365 in Sweet Home, near Little Rock. The water is surrounded by trees and brush and is located near a cemetery.

Little Rock police, Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and UALR police are jointly investigating her death.

Police say they have no suspects and are asking the public for any information about her death. Police say they think that there are people who know what happened who need to come forward. There is a $1,000 reward. Call (501) 580-8706 with any information about Guardado.

There will be a vigil tonight at 7 p.m. at St. Edward's Church in downtown Little Rock.
