THV11, along with the Gannett Foundation, wants to make a difference in Arkansas by providing volunteers to a nonprofit group for a special "Make a Difference Day" on October 26, 2013.
Gannett Corporation started "Make A Difference Day" more than 20 years ago as a national day for helping others. Since then, millions of Americans have rolled up their sleeves and reached out to improve the lives of others in their communities.
The purpose is to engage millions of volunteers nationwide in building stronger, more vibrant, healthier neighborhoods in ways such as: remodeling community centers, rehabilitating parks, repairing low-income homes, creating community art projects, mentoring at-risk youth, planting community gardens, and much more.
THV11 is partnering with the United Way to help with two projects in the area, including Helping Hand and Habitat for Humanity.
