UNDATED (KTHV) - "Black Friday" is coming sooner than ever. Walmart has announced that its deals will open on Thanksgiving Day.
It's the earliest the world's largest retailer has ever jump-started its holiday sales bonanza, and the deals kick into high gear at 8 p.m. Nov. 22. with new offers introduced at 10 p.m. More discounts will come to the shelf on Black Friday at 5 a.m.
Shoppers will even be able to find separate sales online.
The store says the new hours are in response to customers who want to shop early so they can hit the sack after eating all that turkey.
Other retail stores, like Sears and K-Mart, have also announced they will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and more could follow suit.
The number of shoppers hitting stores on Thanksgiving has soared over the past three years from a little over 3 percent in 2009 to 24 percent in 2011.
80 percent of people say they'll start their holiday shopping before December, according to the National Retail Federation, and 12 percent have started before September.
