BEEBE, Ark. (KTHV) - According to the Beebe School District Superintendent, a student brought an unidentified substance to school that looked like it could have been an explosive.

Superintendent Belinda Shook said all students in the school were evacuated to the gym as a precaution once the unidentified substance was found, and police were called.

An Arkansas State Police expert said the unidentified substance appeared to be a firework, but investigators will test it to make sure.

In the mean time, a police dog has also searched the premises for safety measures.

Superintendent Shook said the school board will decide if the student will face disciplinary action.
