BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Bentonville police say they arrested a man Monday in the slaying of a 6-year-old girl who was found dead near her home near downtown Bentonville.

Police Chief Jon Simpson said Zachary Holly, 28, is arrested and charged with capital murder in last week's death of Jersey Bridgeman. Investigators have not disclosed how Bridgeman died but said there is no reason for the community to be worried.

Simpson said Holly is Bridgeman's next-door neighbor and was not related to the girl. In addition to the capital murder charge, Holly is charged with kidnapping and residential burglary.

Jersey's body was found at an abandoned house two doors away from her home. She'd been reported missing the morning of Nov. 20 and found a short time later.

Further details of the investigation and murder have not been released at this time.
