LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Governor Mike Beebe has made it back to Arkansas from Washington D.C. where he and other governors met with President Obama about the fiscal Cliff.
Governor Beebe said they made themselves clear about the federal government giving states flexibility when it comes to handling funding for things like Medicaid.
"I think we can do a lot better job of practically solving problems on the ground than they do in Washington," Beebe explained. "I trust us more than I trust them, but it's a pipe dream to think they're just going to turn everything over to us."
The Governor said the congressional delegation has been extremely supportive of the state's stance on how to deal with the issues.
