LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A group of Arkansans are pushing for an extension of the middle class tax cuts.
Arkansas Fair Share Alliance is a non partisan group, gathering signatures in Little Rock to petition Representative Tim Griffin to not let the tax cuts expire.
Adam Fogleman is with the group and said both parties agree that middle class taxes should not be raised. He said they're also planning to collect signatures in other parts of Arkansas, targeting our entire Congressional delegation.
"This is a common sense first step to reach some resolution on the fiscal cliff and give some certainty to folks in the middle class," explained Fogleman. "That's 98% percent of Americans. Giving certainty to 98% of Americans that their taxes aren't going to go up an average of $2,000 next year. That's a big first step."
Fogleman said they're doing this because they're tired of Congress bickering and are ready for them to take action.
