WEST LITTLE ROCK, Ark . (KTHV) - Police have confirmed that they have found the truck they have been looking for in a months long murder investigation.
According to Capt. Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Department, the blue 2007 Nissan Titan was found abandoned in a Kroger parking lot in West Little Rock Nov. 13 by the Arkansas State Police. The truck had belonged to murder victim Larry Billings, the owner of the Conway Roller Rink on East Oak Street.
Rice said the truck had been found on the same day a $15,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Billings' killer.
Although a month has passed since the truck was found, Rice revealed that investigators have kept the information away from the public for fear the knowledge would deter the investigation.
Police hoped finding the truck would tell them more about the night Billings died, and the vehicle has since been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for processing.
Billings, 60, was found dead from a single gunshot wound in the head at his home on Canterberry Gap Road. The shooting happened Oct. 29 around 7 p.m., and police reported no sign of struggle or forced entry.
Officers said they had previously developed persons of interest and a possible motive in the investigation, but no further information has been released on whom those persons might be.
