The 14x20-foot hands-on train display that is fun for all ages consists of a bi-level layout with a triple arch, double-decker bridge at the center of the display. This dramatic feature makes it the largest Lionel exhibit thus far. The bridge is a one-of-a-kind item made especially for this installation by TW Trainworx in Dallas, TX.
Visitors will also experience more model buildings from the "North Pole" and "Snow Village" collections, modern and vintage trains and many of other accessories.
Children are encouraged to operate the trains and accessories, providing for a more exciting experience.
To add to the holiday cheer, Laman Library is giving away a state-of-the-art Polar Express train set. The Lionel Collectors Club of America donated a Lionel Train Set which will be awarded today, December 22 at 3 p.m. to the winner of a railroad quiz.
The exhibit will run through December 31 in the Laman Library's exhibit hall located at 2801 Orange Street in North Little Rock. It is free and open to the public. Library hours are Mon-Thu (9 a.m. - 9 p.m.), Fri & Sat (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and Sun (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.) They are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
