BJ Young named SEC player of the week

    FAYETTEILLVE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Arkansas sophomore BJ Young has been named the SEC player of the week the conference announced Monday. 

    BJ Young is  a 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore guard from St. Louis, Mo.

    Young recorded game-highs with 26 points and 13 rebounds against Northwestern State.The Razorbacks won that game 79-61 on Saturday, December 29.

    Young also had his second career double-double and his first of this season. He was just three assists away from knocking down the first triple-double of his career as he finished with seven assists.

    On the season, Young is leading the Razorbacks with 17.5 points and 4.4 assists while adding 4.7 rebounds per game. The Northwestern State game marked the fifth time this season that he has reached the 20-point mark and more than doubled his previous season-high (5) for rebounds.
