Little Rock Ark.; (KTHV)--The winter storm took out power, even some homes and left roads a mess, but the City of Little Rock is working to clean it all up. City trucks were out in full force Saturday. They went out to homes to pick up debris like limbs, brush, stumps even trees.
The Little Rock Landfill is where all those trucks ended up. The trucks dropped off their loads of debris, all leftover from the winter storm. William Tippett a foreman with the street department says residents can drop off loads at the landfill but it will cost you. It's 30 dollars for a ton if you don't have quite a ton the minimum fee is 15 dollars, but Tippett says there's another way and it's a free one, "what citizens need to do, if they have trees that need to get picked up they need to call 311 and put in the request and we will come and pick it up."
The crews are working overtime to pick up all the limbs and brush; they are working ten hour days six days a week. They plan to do so until all of Little Rock is cleaned up. You can also visit their website to request pick up service, just click here.
