LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- THV Film Critic Jonathan Nettles with a look at what's new in theaters.
Bullet to the Head
Here's what you need to know: This action film is based on a graphic novel, and stars Sylvester Stallone as a New Orleans hitman who forms an alliance with a DC cop to bring down the killers of their respective partners. It's likely your typical buddy cop action thriller. It's really cool to see Sylvester Stallone, similarly to what we've seen with Arnold Schwarzenegger, make a return to the action genre.
Bullet to the Head is rated "R" for all of the stuff you'd expect from this type of action film.
Stand up Guys
Stand Up Guys stars Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Arkin as a group of again con men trying to get the old gang back together before one of the guys takes his last assignment - to kill his pal.
Fun Fact: Al Pacino is 72 years old, Christopher Walken is 69 years old. Guess how old Sylvester Stallone is...67.
We've seen the standard zombie movie before but I can't recall one like this - a zombie movie with a love story. R is the name of our main character zombie who encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. As the two form a special relationship, R becomes more human.
Next week, I'll have an interview with one of the film's stars, John Malkovich, and next week I'll tell you what he had to say about making this very different zombie apocalypse film.
