UNDATED (CNN) -- This 15-year-old Icelandic girl has fought and won the right to keep her name.
That's according to the News of Iceland.
The name Blaer is considered a boy's name in Iceland, where the government controls what names are allowed.
Until now, her birth certificate listed the generic word for "girl" as her first name.
Her mom sued the government on her behalf to use the name she gave her.
A district court decided Thursday the name Blaer can now be used for both boys and girls.
