CAMP ROBINSON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Soldiers from around the nation will attend training at the Arkansas National Guard's 233rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute.
According to state public affairs officer Major Chris Heathscott, trainees will participate in a mortar live fire exercise as part of instruction beginning around noon Fri., Feb. 8 and should be finished around 9 p.m.
He added that the sound of the artillery fire will likely carry outside Camp Robinson's perimeter and may cause concern in the surrounding area, which is why Camp Robinson is trying to make the public aware of the training program.
Heathscott said the training takes place on the northeast side of Camp Robinson near Cato, and south of Route 89.
