LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., is forecasting a slight chance of severe weather for southern Arkansas.

A cold front is projected to move through the state on Sunday, clashing with warm, moist air over the southern part of the state.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock says the best chance for severe storms is south of a line from Texarkana to West Memphis.

Up to 2 inches of rain could fall in places in the southeast, where localized flooding may be possible. Rain is forecast across most of the state as the system moves through.

A second storm system is expected to reach Arkansas on Tuesday, with precipitation ending as light rain and a snow mix over the central and north of the state, with minimal accumulations.
