Deployment ceremony to honor 50 at Camp Robinson

    From the Arkansas National Guard:

    Soldiers are preparing for Kuwait deployment with the Aviation Maintenance mission.

    Approximately 50 Soldiers with the Arkansas National Guard's Detachment 1, Company B, 449th Aviation Intermediate Maintenance of the Camp Robinson-based 77th Theater Aviation Brigade will be honored in ceremony as the unit prepares for deployment to Kuwait with a aviation maintenance mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom

    The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, February 22. Media interested in coverage of this event are asked to meet media escort at 9:40 a.m. The unit will not depart the state until this weekend at a time yet to be determined.

    Interested media are asked to meet escort at Camp Robinson Maneuver Training Center's main gate Visitors Center on Military Drive in North Little Rock. The ceremony will take place in building 25351 on post.

    The unit will conduct a brief training period at Fort Hood, Texas, prior to deployment overseas. The total mobilization time for the unit is anticipated to be one year.

    With this mobilization, the Arkansas National Guard will have a total of approximately 300 Soldiers and Airmen mobilized in support of operations overseas.
