COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Univ. of Ark.) - The 200 freestyle relay team of Susanna White, Nina Drolc, Maddie Monroe and Shana Lim recorded the fastest time in University of Arkansas swimming and diving history with a 1:30.23 on the second day of the 2013 Southeastern Conference Championships. The Razorbacks currently sit in eighth-place with 234 points going into day three of the championships.

The record-breaking swim gives the Razorbacks an NCAA 'B' Cut time as the Razorbacks shatter the previous record of 1:31.71 set in 2003 (Csobanki, Stoner, Johns and Shepherd). Coupled with Nina Drolc's thrashing of the 50 free record in the morning preliminaries, which was set by Peggy Stoner in 2003, Arkansas has broken eight school records and counting this season under new head coach Sean Schimmel.

"There were some great highlights from today," Schimmel said.

"Starting with Kesha Naylor getting another top-eight finish on the boards, Nicole Menzel putting up two best times in the 500 free today and of course the relay at the end setting a school record to close out the day."

Kicking off the evening was sophomore Lauren Jordan with a personal-best 4:44.24 in the 500 freestyle 'C' finals. Jordan would capture the lead from the get-go and held on tight a strong finish, winning her heat. Senior, and two-time All-American, Chelsea Franklin nabbed a time of 4:47.75 for third-place in the 'C' finals and 19th overall.

A personal-best swim in the morning preliminaries earned Nicole Menzel a spot in the 'B' finals and the junior finished strong with a new personal-best time of 4:44.73. All three competitors in the evening finals earned NCAA 'B' Cut times. The point pickup was enough to move the Razorbacks up a spot to seventh with 145 points.

Sophomore Susanna White represented the Razorbacks in the 'B' finals of the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:00.67. White was in second place after the opening leg, but fell to eighth after the second leg, where she would finish just short of her personal-best prelim time of 1:59.16

Drolc also competed in the 50 freestyle 'C' finals, where she recorded a 19th overall with a time of 22.87. Earlier in the day she broke the decade-old school record of 22.73 set by Peggy Stoner in 2003.
Kesha Naylor shined on the one-meter board scoring for the Razorbacks as she nabbed a sixth-place finish with a final score of 290.80 to score for the Razorbacks.

"I've been really happy with the way Kesha has competed so far in this meet," head diving coach Dale Schultz said "We worked on being consistent all year long and she has shown that. She is one of just three girls who finaled on both springboard events here at the SEC Championships."

To close out the meet the Razorbacks were searching for a strong finish and they got one from the 200 free relay. White led things off for the Razorbacks and was the fastest off the blocks (.68). She recorded a 22.69 split on the leadoff leg. Drolc was up next, recording the fastest split for Arkansas with a 22.18. Monroe held strong with a 22.53, handing it off to Lim for the close to finish seventh overall for a 46 point pickup.

With the seventh-place finish, Arkansas would hold its ground in eighth place (234) going into day three of the Championship.

"I want to come out in the morning and be really aggressive, positive and focused and get after our morning swims because you score points in the morning," Schimmel said. "They have to get up and get ready to compete and be sharp."

The Razorbacks will return to the pool tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle preliminaries and finals.
