    Local and State News:

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Conway Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman he met through Craigslist.

According to public information officer LaTresha Woodruff, Loyton Frances, 31, of Malvern, turned himself in to officers Feb. 22 on a warrant for aggravated assault stemming from an incident that happened on Feb. 15.

Woodruff said Francis allegedly posted an ad on Craigslist claiming to own an escort service and wanted to interview potential employees. She said a 20-year-old answered the ad and agreed to meet with him for dinner and an interview, but Francis instead drove her to a field, pulled out a knife and gun, and ordered her to undress.

Woodruff went on to say that the victim managed to get out of the car and call a friend to pick her up before she called police to report what happened.

Francis was developed as a suspect when police traced the original ad back to him, Woodruff added; they also learned that Francis was on federal pretrial release and this arrest violated the requirements of his release.

Detective Brian Williams said it's very likely the Conway woman is not Francis' only victim.

If anyone believes they were victimized by Francis or has information on this case, they are asked to call Conway Police at (501) 450-6120 or you can text an anonymous tip to CRIMES with the keyword 'Conway'. You can also contact the US Marshall's Office in Little Rock.
